V&T Luxury Parlor Car: The Ardelle Mae

The Ardelle Mae is the jewel of the passenger car fleet at the Virginia & Truckee Railroad. Recently she was used for two special charter trains. On Saturday, May 7, 2017, a group of railfans who donated to a KNPB membership drive were rewarded with a special ride on the Ardelle Mae. The next day a group from the Western Pacific Railroad Historical Convention rode as part of their weekend event in Reno.

The members of the Feather River Rail Society Archives Department (formerly the Western Pacific Railroad Historical Society) then rode the #22 McKeen Motorcar at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. The V&T’s own engineer Taylor ran the V&T train that day in Virginia City, Nevada. By coincidence he was also part of the crew for the McKeen car ride!
